Munna Bhai MBBS

Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. is a 2003 Bollywood comedy-drama directed by Rajkumar Hirani and starring Sanjay Dutt in the titular role of Munna, a lovable gangster with a heart of gold. Munna, whose real name is Murli Prasad Sharma, lives with his gang and operates in Mumbai, pretending to his parents that he is a successful doctor. His father, Hari Prasad Sharma, a simple village man, takes pride in his son's supposed accomplishments, unaware of Munna's actual lifestyle.

When Munna’s parents come to visit him, they discover the truth, and his father, deeply disappointed, leaves heartbroken. This incident inspires Munna to fulfill his father's dream of having a doctor in the family by enrolling in medical school. With the help of his loyal friend Circuit (played by Arshad Warsi), Munna bribes his way into the prestigious institution, where he meets Dr. Asthana (Boman Irani), the strict and humorless dean who becomes Munna’s antagonist.

Despite lacking medical knowledge, Munna brings compassion and empathy to the hospital, which deeply impacts the patients and even some of the medical staff. He develops a unique approach to patient care, dubbed “jadoo ki jhappi” (magical hug), which he uses to lift patients’ spirits. Along the way, Munna falls in love with Dr. Suman (Gracy Singh), who also happens to be Dr. Asthana's daughter.

Munna’s unorthodox methods and honesty eventually win over many of the patients and challenge the rigid and bureaucratic hospital system, but his lies and lack of formal education come to light. In the end, Munna confronts the truth of his limitations, but he also inspires change in those around him.

Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. is celebrated for its blend of humor and heart, with its central theme of humanity over bureaucracy, and it became an iconic film in Bollywood cinema.
